Staff members like players who have a bunch of visible and hidden attributes these attributes are rated from 1 to 20 with 20 being the best you can get naturally the higher the attributes are for a given role the better the staff member will be at doing this job but we'll get to more on that later
The attributes are broken up into six categories coaching goalkeeper coaching mental knowledge medical and a single analytics attribute in terms of the coaching attributes this is what they do attacking represents a coach's expertise and preference for attacking football a higher rating means they are more likely to implement effective attacking tactics
Adaptability represents how well a staff member adjusts to living and working in a foreign country a higher rating makes them more open to relocating abroad while if it's low good luck trying to get them to understand the local takeaway menu never mind learning a new language
Judging player ability and player potential go hand-in-hand these attributes are crucial for Scouts but also valuable for coaches and other staff members a high rating ensures more accurate scouting reports and player assessments
The personality hidden attributes work in the same way they do for players and so I'm not going to cover them in the same detail here because we've done that in the previous episode what I will say on this is that for the most part staff personalities do not have an influence on players once the player is at your Club
Now the staff specific hidden attributes are something that we have not spoken about before these hidden staff attributes are used primarily to dictate how the AI Control staff members will behave for example how managers will set up tactically how transfer and contract decisions will be made how coaches will go about their training etc etc
Fitness coaches are responsible for training either quickness or strength and in doing so focus on Pace acceleration agility and balance for the former and strength natural Fitness work creat and jumping reach for the latter the fitness attribute is the primary attribute to focus on aside from the determination level of discipline and motivation
The performance analyst list will analyze matches and also be able to provide you with specific visual representations of the data you request now I am quite fond of the data but I will usually bypass the analysis the performance analyst provides in favor of doing this myself with the data that is available
He's responsible for all things regarding the youth at your Club will oversee intakes of new Young Talent provide reports on player progress in the dev Center advise your on training and be involved in a coaching capacity as well naturally the key attributes for him are dependent on the responsibilities you assign him
The assistant manager will be required to be good at a number of things to be good at his job what these things are depends on how you utilize your assistant or assistance because yes you can employ more than one
The role of the director of football is basically to oversee and control all aspects of Club Management in game the extent of his involvement can be controlled by the responsibilities tab depending on how involved you would like to be
The technical director's role can involve all board level management of staff at the club this can include hiring and firing of staff for the first team as well as the reserve and youth teams dealing with contracts and even making decisions on sending staff out on coaching courses
He will be able to identify players that should go out and Loan and find suitable clubs for them in terms of facilities and playing style therefore giving them the best chance to develop while out on loan
The chief Scout can oversee and manage all assignments, scout players himself and even set up assignments based on his assessment of requirements at the club
The recruitment analyst will look at match data to provide you with an analyst report here he will outline key statistics and role competencies for a player which will enable you to make the most informed decision on a potential signing
The physio is responsible for injury rehab, he will also give you information on how long a player will be out for and the better he is at his job, the more accurate this estimation will be
like players have a current ability and potential ability this implies that over time they could potentially improve and with the players we can observe this potential but with the staff there isn't a scout report to give us the same Clues
coaching badges range from no badge to the Continental Pro badge staff members that do not already have the highest level of qualification may decide to study further on their own at some point in your save if they do this they will pay for the cost themselves usually around £600 for a national license up to about £6,000 for the Continental Pro license
now you already understand the importance of each attribute and you understand what attributes are important to each role but before we can start looking for staff let's look at how to set up our views so there are at least two views that I generally use one for coaching staff and one for recruitment staff and this helps make my life easier in terms of sifting through the various staff that you will be looking at
the first method we'll look at is finding some specialty staff in this case a coach that is very good at training one category as an example we're going to say that we're looking for a technical attacking coach I'm going to go to new search and click on Staff Roll coaching changes up to coach and then pick some attributes that we know are going to be important for this
now we will get on to how to find a general coach because as I said we would want to have a bunch of General coaches as a Supporting Cast to your lead coach for each training category now we will get on to how to set that up but let's go ahead and find one of those General coaches we'll go again to new search we'll then pop in our DDM again as we do we can then go to search criteria add an additional condition go on to General hit rating and change the star rating up to four stars and then we've got just eight that we can have a look at
expanding your World Knowledge is going to increase the number of staff and players available to you so if you do have the means to increase this by hiring more Scouts go ahead and improve it in this way now with the manual staff searching out the way there's a few other ways that you can find staff in general not necessarily the best staff but staff regardless
like Fabio Rivera here to find the staff for you as a last result you can ask members of your squad or staff to suggest stuff to you in this case we're going to go ahead and click on Andrea zovich discuss go to advice recommend staff Edition and you could ask him to recommend any role that you are looking for now if he responds positively it could give you an actual recommendation
one other alternative method is to poach staff now if you're at a big Club you can go ahead and do this but remember you'll be paying compensation fees like we spoke about earlier you can do this by going to your staff overview screen and then what I generally will do here if I try to do this go to the areas that you aren't very good in like goalkeeper handling coaching here and we can see that a is the best in the league
your board will set limits for the number of Staff you can appoint in each role you can see this in the staff panel as staff allowed versus those currently employed by the club these numbers fluctuate based on financial status of the club and the club reputation in general you will be allowed to sign more staff when the club's financial status is secure or better and when the reputation is higher
the first step in setting up your backro staff is identifying how much you can really afford to spend on them you can also only employ the allowed number of stuff for each role so of course that will govern how you build the setup for big clubs you can go wild here as you will generally have a huge budget whilst in the lower tiers you may have to prioritize how you use your money
so we can think about how we're going to go about setting up our coaching staff in setting up your coaching you can view your coach's workload and Lead coach rating for each training category at the bottom of the screen these two things affect the quality of the training in each category and by extension the quality of attribute development that is related to the category
now I've said all of this but let's go ahead and try and put it into practice to give you a proper look at how to go about setting up your coaching St we'll consider a budget setup and then one with a little bit more money
we'll start off by ignoring our under 21 staff this is something that I usually do and then we'll go category by category so first up is goalkeeping and as you can see George vit's best category is highlighted here so we'll go ahead and select him in shot stopping and he's four and a half Stars which is brilliant
we'll start as we did earlier we'll use George vital in the position that he was great at morson in terms of handling and then Tommy leads to cover the workload we now have a set piece coaching Fernando so we'll pop him in there he's four star better than Andre georgeson was then we'll sort out our fitness again we have Charlie Owen to coach quickness Mike C strength follow gordino to cover the workload and the same with Mike Golden now we've got a few more options in terms of how to deal with the general coaching category
for this setup we're at B and I've chosen this club because the constraints are pretty difficult now we currently have three coaches and we're only allowed two which means we can't really make any changes to our coaching staff that are at the club already
if you do choose to prioritize Beyond just focusing on quickness in the lower levels you can focus these priorities on your strengths or weaknesses say perhaps you had some really good Strikers and you were scoring a lot of goals in the league you can double down and focus on attacking coaching to be even better at this or make sure that you're even better at it by removing all the other assignments for the coaches that are coaching attacking categories
The daa Hub will provide great insights as to where you're lacking in your game and then you can choose to focus on those strengths or those weaknesses something as simple as the XG table which will usually tell you if you're outperforming or underperforming in defense or in attack will usually highlight what you need to focus on
nd the best possible staff to fill those gaps now ideally you want at least one Scot that is very good at judging ability and one that is very good at judging potential this will allow for you to find players that are good enough for the first team and then also some youth players that have good potential for the future
now every single category will demand a different set of attributes but if you understand all that we have spoken about up until this point you will definitely have a decent idea of what the attributes do in the first place what the staff roles generally require and so much of this will be pretty much self-explanatory
as a player gets towards the end of their career they will sometimes become interested in taking up a non-playing role you can find this out in any player over 29 years old by looking at the information page on their profile and checking up on their long-term plans
I mean I've spent all of this time talking to you about it so don't neglect it whether you choose to delegate the tasks or take them upon yourself spend time making sure that someone that is able to do them appropriately is in charge of them
